Gentle / Bold:
Our candles are purposely designed to quietly enhance and not overpower your spaces. We're not in the business of shipping out headaches, we will leave that to the other guys! Our gentle to bold sliding scale refers to the feeling of the candle - 'gentle' will feel light and airy and 'bold' will feel heavier and more encompassing.
Why Size Matters:
Choose the right size candle based on your room size! Smaller 8 oz candles will have a lighter hot throw with a scent radius of around 3ft - 5ft, perfect for desks, coffee tables, dressers and larger 12 oz candles will be stronger and throw up to 9ft, perfect for larger spaces.
Why wax type matters in your candle experience:
If you're used to store bought candles, you may notice a difference when burning a hand-crafted candle made with 100% plant-based waxes. Store-bought candles are typically made with 100% paraffin or a "wax-blend" with a high-paraffin content. The high paraffin-content is what allows for a stronger scent throw but with little nuance in what you're smelling - they're only designed to be "strong".
While hand-crafted candles made with 100% plant waxes like ours emit a subtler fragrance, they are often preferred for a more gentle and nuanced scent experience, one that makes the absolute most of all notes in the fragrance with every single burn.

Top Notes:
These are the scents you'll notice most when you first light your candle or before lighting it. Their job is to intrigue and provide a gentle introduction as to what lies ahead. As your candle sits cool, these are the elevating notes that will subtly enhance your living spaces. Like all delicate things a top note is fleeting, they evaporate quickly making way for the middle and base notes.
Heart Notes:
Heart Notes, also referred to as Middle Notes appear quickly after your candle has been lit. These notes are far more stable and evaporate slower to keep your attention. They gently mingle with those fleeting top notes to give your candle it's personality.
Base Notes:
Base notes come in right after the middle notes. They are powerful and invigorating and often linger well after your candle has been extinguished, this is because at a molecular level they are much heavier than the other notes and evaporate the slowest. Base notes are what add complexity and much needed depth to your candle fragrance.
Olfactory Family:
Olfactory simply relates to your sense of smell. The Olfactory Family places fragrances on the 'fragrance wheel' which groups fragrances into four 'families'; Floral, Amber, Woody and Fresh. Each family is made up of aromas that are either similar to each other, share the same characteristics or have complementary aspects. Under each family are sub-groups, which describe a particular scent in much detail.
Phthalates:
Phthalates are little scent carriers, they were typically used to disperse the fragrance molecules further to give a better hot throw. In recent years phthalates have been linked to some potential not nice side effects such as reproductive issues and hormone disrupting, so you will never find them in our fragrances. Instead we use coconut wax which is a light molecule and ask you to place your candle in an area that takes advantage of the natural air flow of a room - this does the job just as well without nasty effects.
WHAT'S IT LIKE?
12 oz candles, perfect for larger rooms, scent throw up to 9ft.
8 oz candles, great for smaller rooms, or burning at your desk or coffee table, scent throw 3 ft - 5ft.
Just so you know, all of our candles are purposely designed to gently enhance your spaces without overpowering them. No headaches here!
Everything is poured, label & packaged by real human hands so you may notice some slight variations or imperfections.
While we do our absolute best - we really do - this may include minor imperfections to the surface of the wax, labels that aren't perfectly straight, a smudge etc. None of these things will impact the quality of the candle, or the burn!
We use 100% plant-based wax without paraffin & non-soy additives and we do not add white dyes. On one hand it gives us a very clean burn with little to no soot or smoke, but you may notice a slight frosting of the surface before burning and some texture & slight discoloration around the wick after.

Our little 8oz candles are perfect for burning in smaller rooms, or close by such as a coffee table or your desk. They have a scent throw of about 3 - 5ft.
Our 12 oz candles are more suited for bigger rooms, or if you want a slightly stronger scent throw in a smaller room, these candles throw up to 9ft.
Whichever size you get, placement does matter. Since we leave out ingredients such phthalates our candles throw best when they make use of the natural airflow in a room!

We categorize our fragrances as either bold & encompassing, or light and airy.
Our bold & encompassing fragrances are heavier on the base notes. They will feel more noticeable in a room.
Our light & airy fragrances are more focused on the delicate top & heart notes. They feel more gentle in a room. These are also great for our scent sensitive friends.

1. Set The Mood: This is a moment. Find the soundtrack that matches your fragrance and settle in.
2. Trim That Wick: Your candle should arrive ready to light but do double check and ensure the wick is 5mm before the first burn. For all future burns trim wick by pinching or snipping away the charred wood until wick is 5mm.
After lighting the flame height should be no taller than 1 inch in height. If it's taller, flickering excessively, you didn't trim enough!
3. Have Patience: Let your candle burn until the melted wax has reached (or very nearly reached) the edges of the container - especially important on the first couple of burns. This will stop your candle from tunneling in future burns.
4. Don't be Silly, Safety First: Never leave a lit candle unattended, and do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time. To protect your surfaces from heat, place your candle on a coaster. Don't burn where children or pets can get them. Don't burn near anything that can catch fire.
5. Stop Right Now, Thank You Very Much!: Don't burn your candle if only 1/2" of wax remains. Lighting a candle without enough wax can overheat the jar, and will cause it to smoke and may cause it to break or shatter. Plus, with too much heat your fragrance will likely just smell like hot fuel! Urgh.
